"San Román", native of "Romanus" or "Roman", is a documented oriental saint his cult in the Xth century and XI. It is said that the town is called this way because his church was dedicated in that one holy. Adding that the Town called "San Román of the Mount" In this town there destroyed for fire in 1860 the municipal, only file that existed, therefore he lacks information, although for rumors one believes that all that refers to this town is in the General File of Simancas. It is very probable that this area was occupied, in the reconquest, by nations of Avila, incorporating it into this diocese and jurisdiction. One speaks already about the mounts, which later they include in the territory of San Román, in Alfonso's reign VI. The jurisdictional roll that endorses the villazgo privilege, it seems that it is of the beginning of the XVIth century. This way, then, this town was subject to the dominion of the family of the Dávila, later turned into Marquesses of Party and later than Altamira. (Fte.-Texto Delegation to see link) |
