The group of Mozarabs who founded this one locality named him by "Sevilleja", which is one diminutively - contemptuous of "Seville", in memory of his city vernacular. Sevilleja of the Rockrose is in some 190 km from Madrid, for the highway of Extremadura that turns aside from Talavera of the Queen to the marsh of Cíjara, grounds of mount low, exhausted for the sun, where the sound of a simple fly gives voice to the heat. Sevilleja is a conglomerate of low houses of adobe, of narrow, tortuous and clean streets with 2.600 inhabitants, 20 births and 25 deaths on average during the year; three bars where, come the case repairer one can throw a sleep. It happens to Sevilleja of the Rockrose as to most of the Towns, the young Town go away and remain only them old men and that “gustan ” of the hunting. Because this ground with justice is in fact a paradise with species plenty and one wide scenery that invites to cover it for his four sides. Here the Town love the hunting up to the same bones. It is no wonder since, that here the first Social Preserve of Spain is. To entry to the Town, at least of one kilometer there find them facilities of the National Service of Continental Fishing, He hunts and National parks, entity that will manage and canalize the putting in march of this big preserve of fighter minor that occupies a surface of more than 30.000 hectares, understood the municipal terms of Sevilleja and Widths, in the provinces of Toledo and Ciudad Real, respectively.
