In the relation of 1576 one affirms that "it was called in last times Pepines de la Sagra". According to a relation of 1782 it was called "a Long Town" because "extend towards east the long one distance"; and for wanting to honor the name of captain Manfredo of Long, that died at the head of theirs in combat with the enemies of Paulo V. The places that occupy us were known from the prehistory and his population remains in his soil from the Celtic shepherds up to the Christian reconquest. Our town, named already Villaluenga, in 1477, was contributing to support of the Holy Brotherhood of Toledo. At the beginning of century XVI were local gentlemen the Miscellany. In 1520 it took the village and castle of the Eagle, which there was located, the bishop of Zamora for in 1522 to go on again again to the power of the Miscellany.
