The place name "grinds" it originates in the Latin American "mola", that gives this Castilian meaning, which is a "hill rasped on the high part and very small but flat summit". In XIIIth century turns out to be written like that: "Town of Molis", "Villamolas", "Villamuelas". This Town is joined to the farmhouse of "Cerva Longa", which was depopulating for the sake of Villamuelas. River Algodor is located very close to , what did that it was turning into an insane place and, hence, his depopulation. The archbishop Jiménez de Rada was possessing several properties in Cerva Longa and, in 1211. Don Juan de Setfila, in name of the given priority archbishop of Spain, was acquiring to don Illán Pérez, son of don Pedro, grounds in the above-mentioned farmhouses. These were been of Gonzalo Pérez (later he was an archbishop), son of gift Pedro the Polichení. For the procurement that the archbishop did Jiménez of Inlet, belonged our Town to the mitre toledana, until for the year 1583 Felipe II sold the town to don Álvaro of Alcocer.
