The word "tufa" has two meanings, one: "porous stone" and other one "ass-driver combed". This second, of thistle, is the one that we estimate it corresponds to our population, that is to say, "place or town where there abound the tufas, where there are tufas".

MONUMENTS:

CHAPEL OF SAN JORGE
It was constructed in the first half of the S.XVI, since the references and allusions that exist in the ancient documents of the Parochial File of Villatobas, they are from the year 1547. Environment to this year diverse donations appear for the Chapel.
It was a wide building, of simple and popular quadrangular tracing, in coarse stone, tapial and revoked of plaster and lime, and with roof to four waters. Towards 1974-5, the Chapel was finding in a forward position the deterioration state, and no cult was already celebrated. At present, it is reconstructed in the same place where previous chapel of the S.XVI was finding it . The devotion could cause San Jorge in Villatobas since there was invoked in some places before any evil or catastrophe that could threaten the populations (epidenias, plagues or illnesses).

CHAPEL OF SAN JOSE
In 1626 his existence is quoted across testamentary legacies. His ancient brotherhood received indulgences and blessings of the pontícifes Urbano VIII in 1634 and Pío VI in 1796. A simple reredos of the S preserves the Chapel. Of plant rectángular, his architecture and artistic quality is more notable than that of the rest of small chapels that there was in Villatobas. It has vault of half a point with three arches fajones and fanlights. The entry door is of wood, with wrought nails, with lintel and shoes in carved wood.

SAINT'S CHAPEL ANN
The antiquity of this chapel is testified in the Parochial File, where there stays steadfastness of which the Chapel of Santa Ann already existed in 1605. Of popular architecture, it had his stones walls, with three reinforcement buttresses. In this one Chapel the neighbors were coming to to say the flowers in May, the children were going to catechesis and to to come on eve of July 26 during the night bonfires were lighting them in honor of Santa Ann. The bricklayers it have come celebrating for ages like his boss.
For the years 1970-1975, the Chapel was finding in the very bad state of conservation, provoking his current ruin. At present, there is projected his reconstruction in the same place of his ancient one emplacement.

SANCTUM OF NAZARENE JESUS
It is a question of a building placed in the city center of Villatobas. In his interior emphasizes the reredos of the high altar and Jesus's image Nazarene, the latter size of the XVIIth century, ámbos missing persons in the year 1936. The current reredos was constructed in 1948, it is composed by three streets.
