There is famous the Church of Santa Maria of Axpe, Basque and Spanish cultural heritage. It is known by his architecture Gothic and the good conservation state.
The history tells that in the year 1051, the count of Biscay, granted to the bishop of Alava the property of the monastery of Santa Maria of Axpe together with all his belongings, which today is the church. Part of these belongings is the ancestral house that there is in the enclosure of the Church, place of birth of famous inhabitants of Axpe.
