Description
The municipality of Villatorres was born of the coalition carried out by Ordinance in 1975 between the municipalities of Villargordo and Torrequebradilla, to those that were united the nucleus of Fords of Torralba. The archaeological discoveries located in the municipal term of Villatorres testify the human presence from Neolithic time (3.000 to C.). Before arriving to Villagordo, next to the old road, he/she is the hill of Pedriza, with remains of a íbero-Roman enclosure. Of the necropolis located in the Girl's Farm, a funeral urn proceeds that points here at the Iberian character's hierarchical high level buried (Archaeological Provincial Museum).

The north half of the term is included in the Natural Park of the Mountains of Cazorla, Sure and The Villages, modifying its geomorphology in address toward the south and southeast, to the river smaller Guadiana and Guadalentín, where the landscape of Well Alcón changes abruptly with wide areas semidesérticas, very erosionadas, of espartizales and tomillares. The agriculture is the main activity, highlighting the cultivation of the olive tree, of herbaceous plants and of almond trees. The cattle raising is important, being dominated by the ovino and the poultry keeping. The bad communications of Well Alcón with the county of Jaén makes him to be bound to Trick (Granada) than to other towns of the county. The tourism, on the other hand, it is configuring at the moment like a future activity in the environment of denominated "Sierra of the Well."
