The name of the municipality of Guancha has its origin in a beautiful legend dated in dates of the conquest of Tenerife by the Castilians. According to bill the history a group of soldiers, to Alonso's control Fernández of Lugo, they found in the place that today occupies the municipal helmet to a beautiful aborigine that filled with water its gánigo (vessel of mud) in a source. The "guancha", when seeing the soldiers despavorida escaped and it disappeared among the laurisilva.
The captain that was been captivated of the beauty of that woman, ordered the soldiers his capture, and the aborigine, being seen prey, he rushed to the ravine before being captured. In honor to her, the conquerors baptized the place with the name of "Source of Guancha."

The on the way to earth and stone, crosses an environment where the fruit-bearing trees are plentiful. Continuous among stone walls, surrounded by a vegetation of the area: pines, heaths, jaras, laburnums., until connecting with several lowering and other infrastructures of use of water, like it is the channel or lowering of Big Valley. The channels transform into guide of paths that is skirted to the right by two channels and to the left for one.
Approximately to some 900 meters of the beginning, near an appraised or meter of volume of water, the option exists of taking to the right for a strait road that descends following the lowering one from Vergara to Pinalete, or to continue right for the lowering of Big Loin.
