Description
These lands are full with history. In them they were born and illustrious characters lived, poets, noblemen, military and religious that gave fame to the district. This city council has its capitalidad in the parish of Santa María of Abadín, in the place of Probecende, but the legends and fantasies speak of the origin of the name that gets lost in the times, existing two versions. The first refer to a founder of the Kingdom of Taifas sevillano, denominated Abul-Casin or Abbot first, creator of the dynasty of Abaditas, but there is not any ésto perseverance. The second version is more believable, since a document of the monks of Meira exists with date of December of 1254, 3 giving him/her for the abbot Hemerico letter from the population to the Farm of Vilarente in favor of 54 neighbors of the same one....................

Megalithic important monuments are conserved, like TO Peña Abaladoira and remains of the culture Castrexa, disseminated by diverse parishes, like in Bacoi or own Castro of Ouro, considered as the primitive nucleus of the City council
The predominant fauna is constituted by cérvidos (roe deer, deer and bucks), boars and even wolves. For that reason it is also a good place for the hunt. For all this the landscape Alfocense is a great resource.......
