Distant locality little more than fifteen kilometers of Alagón, capital of the region of the High Bank of Ebro, to that it belongs. The horticultural agriculture and the cultivation of wheat and alfalfa constitutes the base of the economy of this population.

The first news relative to the locality of Alcala of Ebro alludes to the castle of Moslem origin that on the banks of Ebro was part of the defensive system of the city of Saragossa.
After the conquest of the city of Saragossa and his surroundings in 1118, the castle happened to be part of the real honors, places in those who would form the first dominions of the High Bank of Ebro, on having been entrusted to the noblemen who were accompanying the monarch.
