They form the municipality the locality of Joyosa and it divides the Marlofa nucleus, in the region of the High Bank of the Ebro.

The Joyosa and Marlofa were agricultural farms of dominion, in which they raised buildings for the gentleman and for the farmers, up to to form each small built-up nuclei.
The Barony of The Joyosa was created in 1425. The origin and evolution of his place name allows to establish the following names enumeration with those who have been known to the locality to which we refer: during the Middle Age his name been Pinillo and in 1543 it was still named this way. It is necessary to come a XVIth century to find the current name, the first Joyosa until 1646, and from here on The Joyosa, name with the one that has met up to today.

From his city center it is necessary to emphasize the parochial church of Ours Lady of the Puig, of baroque style; and the house - palace of the Baron, located in the Square of Spain.
