Prehistory talks each other of a territory inhabited from , as the archaeological remains testify found in area, of 30.000 years of antiquity. His city center, it appears crowned by the medieval Castle, on top of a foreland.

Of Trasmoz was the most important frontier castle of the somontano of the Moncayo, although seeing his current situation it does not seem such. Placed to the north of the Moncayo, he was keeping the ways that they were communicating Castile with Aragon. Extremadura and ground of conflicts that already in XIIth century propitiated the building of the central turret of the current one fortification. There is news of the same one in 1185, when this territory belonged to the kingdom of Navarre and it was recovered by Alfonso II for Aragon.

This is the epoch of building of his tower of the homage and of the first enclosure in his winch. Subsequently, XIIIth to XVth centuries, the wall added along them to him perimetral and the towers of his angles, turning his ancient pit into weapon courtyard.

The successive enlargement of the fortified enclosure was propitiated by Sancho VII of Navarre (1215) and for Pedro III and Pedro IV of Aragon to reinforce it before the wars with Castile.

The perimeter of his wall has form slightly pentagonal, with apex towards the North-East. In each of his angles one built defensive turret, as well as towards half of the side south-west. He stands out also in Trasmoz the Center of Interpretation of the Witchcraft, exhibition placed in the ancient stove of bread, in the street Sacred Heart of Jesus.
